Well, folks, I woke up this morning and realized I didn't have a blog written for today.
I also have six networking meetings, my mom is in town, my daughter's birthday is in two days, I'm onboarding a new HR company at Legion, and I'm doing phone screens for three open positions over there.
In other words, it would have been very easy to blow off my 1,000 blog commitment, just not write anything today, and get on with my day.
But that's not who I am. I would like to think of myself as the type of person who keeps my commitments, and if I say I'm going to do something, I do it. It's all too common for us to keep our commitments to other folks, but drop the ball when it comes to ourselves, and I'm certainly guilty of that. But I'm trying to be better.
So, instead of just saying, "Oh well, I'm too busy to blog today (or tomorrow or the next day)" and quitting this project, I sat down, banged out these few paragraphs, and kept my promise to myself. It ain't Shakespeare, but it counts.
